An Early Wordless Wednesday

Bogey's first real year of golfing, when he was 5.

This was a few seasons ago, when Keep was still playing co-ed ball.

Thought I was fibbin' about those lashes, didn't ya?

Cast of Characters

I suppose if I'm gonna be talking about the family much, I ought to give a brief overview of who everyone is. Of coure, there's me, LJD, and my husband, Mr. LJD. But even better, there's Keep, our preteen daughter. She's a soccer player (a keeper, to be precise), voracious reader and game player. She's bold and courageous and caring. Our middle boy, Bogey, who is in early elementary school. He's a motormouth, a snuggle bug, a golf addict and a video game nut. Lastly, there's Dare. He's the baby of the family. With eyelashes a supermodel would be envious of and the unique ability to remove just about any article of clothing, he's quite the precocious one year old. Finally, we've got quite the menagerie of animals around these parts. Two dogs, each nearly a hundred pounds, a cat, and if Keep has her way, soon enough there'll be a turtle moseying around.

So that's our household in a nutshell. A very loud, chaotic nutshell.

Lowe's Build and Grow!

Tomorrow is the clinic to build a school bus chalk box. The roof of the bus is a chalkboard, and the inside can hold chalk and other goodies. We'll be there, will you? Here's a picture of the project shown on the sign-up site for the clinic, isn't it adorable?

Remember, Lowe's does a clinic for kids once or twice a month. It's free, comes with goodies for your kids, and is a ton of fun!

Three Thinkingest Thursday Thoughts

When your client doesn’t show up for court, you’ve wasted a day's pantyhose. Pantyhose alone is reason enough to make a girl long for her server's apron and polyester pants.

Restaurants that offer healthy kids meals are diamonds among the dust. Worth their weight in gold I tell ya.

The person who thought it was cute to teach the baby to roar super loud is so totally on my hit list right now!

Heading into law school, I knew three irrefutable facts:
1, I was a good mom.
2, Lawyers are vital to people’s lives.
And
3, When all else fails in life, bake a cheesecake and call it a day.

Now, several years later, law school is complete and I’ve learned that “irrefutable facts” are almost always refutable. Except number three. Baking a cheesecake is always a good idea.

So here are my post-law school discoveries about my life:
1, Being a good mom is relative, and my relatives bolster my talents when I’m struggling.
2, Everyone hates a lawyer, until they’re knee deep in troubled waters.
And
3. When there’s a choice to be made; to lullaby the baby or lawyer in the office, there’s really no choice at all, just another all-nighter.

Where blogging fits into the equation, I’m not certain yet. But we’ll figure it out. After all, there's cheesecake!
